Our gorgeous Thalia (a name originating from a Greek word meaning 'to blossom') is an original fairy painting on pale blue, raw mulberry silk paper with off-white mount and was inspired by the beautiful 'Silver Baby' Agapanthus (see photos). Her pale blue and white dress reflects the colour and delicacy of the Silver Baby petals. The genus name, "Agapanthus" is derived from the Greek words "agape." which means "love," and "anthos," which means "flower". The Agapanthus is quite literally the flower of love!
The mulberry silk paper we use is made using traditional and sustainable methods. The paper is made from the pulp of the young and fast growing shoots of the mulberry tree to preserve the trees themselves.
Size of mount: approx 9 x 7" or 23 x 18 cm
